Is this a public room, staff room, or a family sofa?
Contract rooms need the right specification — not a domestic leftover
Fire-retardant upholstery is about matching the cloth and composites to the room, not about a sticker for its own sake. Restaurants, hotels, offices and some HMOs have rules; a family living room usually does not. We flag FR and contract grades when the brief needs them, and we will not dress a domestic sofa as a contract job to sell a more expensive roll.
The right conversation includes the use of the space, any landlord or insurer notes you already have, and whether a specific standard is actually being asked for. Guessing is how people fail an inspection later.
