Customers across West London ask us the same thing: is it worth reupholstering a sofa or should I replace it? We would rather say no to a weak frame than hide chipboard under expensive fabric.
Three checks before we quote a recover
- Frame stability — no rocking when you sit in the corner; arms should not flex.
- Shape you still want — recover keeps the footprint; it does not change the design.
- Foam and springs — sagging seats are often fixable; shredded webbing is repairable on good timber.
When replacement is kinder
Knock-down furniture, water-damaged chipboard and sofas that never sat comfortably are usually better replaced. We say that upfront so you do not spend on cloth that fails in months.
